Global Business Mobility Service Supplier
A Global Business Mobility – Service Supplier Visa is for overseas workers that need to temporarily perform services covered by one of the UK's international trade commitments in the UK, whether they are contractual service suppliers employed by overseas service providers or self-employed independent professionals based overseas.
There is no direct route from the Global Business Mobility – Service Supplier Visa to settlement in the UK. There is, however, the possibility that you may be able to switch to another immigration route that leads to permanent residence. The applicant may be joined by his or her spouse and any dependent children living with them or be accompanied by them.
Global Business Mobility Visa- Service Supplier Contract Requirement:
There must be a contract between the UK sponsor and an overseas provider of services, and the contract must have been registered with the Home Office, and on which you will work as a Service Supplier.
Global Business Mobility Visa Visa- Service Supplier (COS) Certificate of Sponsorship Requirement:
You will need a valid Certificate of Sponsorship for the job that you are planning to carry out if you are planning on applying for a Global Business Mobility - Service Supplier Visa. In order to qualify as a service supplier, you will also need to be sponsored by an employer who is approved by the Home Office to sponsor new service providers.
The sponsor must be listed as A-rated on the Home Office's register of licensed sponsors, unless you were previously permitted to work as a Service Supplier in the past and you are now applying to continue working for the same sponsor as when you were last permitted to work.
The Certificate of Sponsorship must have been issued no more than three months before the date when the application for the Global Business Mobility - Service Supplier Visa is submitted.
Global Business Mobility Visa Visa- Service Supplier Work Requirement:
In order to apply for a Global Business Mobility - Service Supplier Visa, it is essential that you are currently employed or contracted by an overseas service provider who will provide services to your sponsor in the UK and that you have been employed or contracted by the overseas service provider outside the UK for a cumulative period of 12 months.
You may accumulate 12 months of work outside the UK over any time period if you have either been continuously working for your overseas service provider, whether inside or outside of the UK, for at least 12 months prior to the application date. For those who are self-employed overseas service providers, you must have continuously worked in the same sector as the service you will provide to your sponsor, whether you are in or outside the UK, within the 12 months preceding the date of application if you are self-employed overseas service provider.
There can only be statutory breaks in the past 12 months that were taken for the purpose of providing maternity, paternity, parental or shared parental leave, adoption, sick leave, assisting with a national or international humanitarian or environmental crisis, or taking part in lawful industrial action.
Global Business Mobility Visa Visa- Service Supplier Job Skill Requirement:
For a Global Business Mobility – Service Supplier Visa to be granted, the job you are being sponsored to work must be an eligible job at or above the required skill level in order for you to qualify. There is a requirement that the job you intend to do must be at least RQF Level 6 (equivalent to a graduate degree). It is not necessary for you to have a degree, but the role you are applying for must be on par with a graduate level role.
The Home Office has published a list of jobs that are eligible for Global Business Mobility - Service Supplier Visas that can be applied for during the application process. A list of relevant job titles and occupation codes is provided.
Generally, if the job you are considering being sponsored for is on the list, then you will meet the skill level requirement for the job.
It is imperative that your sponsor selects the appropriate occupation code for you. During the application process, the Home Office may refuse your application for a Global Business Mobility Visa if they have reasonable grounds to believe that your sponsor has not chosen the most appropriate occupation code.
Several factors will be considered by the Home Office in deciding whether your sponsor has chosen the appropriate occupation code, including whether there is a genuine need for the job described, whether you possess the necessary skills, qualifications and experience to do that job, and the sponsor's history of complying with the immigration system, when deciding if the sponsor has chosen the most appropriate occupation code.
You will be required to hold a university degree or equivalent level technical qualification in order to be eligible for a Global Business Mobility - Service Supplier Visa, unless you are employed by an overseas service provider that provides one or more of the following types of services:
You must have professional experience in the sector in which you will supply services as follows:
· 3 years’ experience; or
· If you are supplying chef de cuisine services under the CARIFORUM-UK Economic Partnership Agreement, 6 years’ experience; or
· If you are a self-employed overseas service provider, 6 years’ experience.
Switching into the Global Business Mobility Visa Visa- Service Supplier Route:
As long as you have been granted leave to remain in the UK under another immigration category, you will be able to extend that leave by switching to the Global Business Mobility – Service Supplier route. As long as you are not a visitor, short-term student, parent of a child student, seasonal worker, domestic worker in a private household, you may apply for the Global Business Mobility – Service Supplier route to extend your stay.
